Hanson Bridgett Receives Top Diversity Award 3rd Year in a Row

January 28, 2022 (San Francisco, CA) – Hanson Bridgett LLP, an AmLaw 200 law firm for all of California, is pleased to receive the 2021 Platinum Diversity Award from the Contra Costa County Bar Association (CCCBA). The award honors law firms that embrace diversity awareness and implement comprehensive, targeted actions. This marks the third year in a row earning the highest of four levels of recognition. The firm received the gold level in 2018 at the inaugural awards ceremony.
CCCBA’s Diversity Awards recognize firms of all sizes in four key areas: Education, Training and Communications, Internal and External Diversity Efforts, and Recruiting and Retention. The awards submission process is rigorous, with information and data submitted on 90 different points in these four key areas.
“We are humbled to receive this high honor again," said Jennifer Martinez, who was named the firm's first Chief Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Officer. “Last year, the firm began or expanded even more initiatives to promote diversity, equity and inclusion internally within our firm and externally in the legal profession itself. I will continue to look inward at increasing our efforts, while also working closely with firm leadership to do even more in the community in the coming years. There is always more than can be done.”
Diversity has been a core value since the firm's founding in 1958. The firm is committed to the advancement diversity and equity in the legal profession—including sponsoring law school recruitment receptions, workshops and fellowships for students of color to create necessary pipelines and opportunities in addition to internal committees and initiatives. The firm has received dozens of other diversity awards over the years, including being named to Seramount's Best Law Firm for Women for the past 12 straight years and receiving Minority Corporate Counsel Association's; 2021 George B. Vashon Award. Additionally, the firm achieved Mansfield 4.0 Certification Plus status in 2021.
