Kara Barnard is a Senior Associate in ENSafrica’s Employment practice.

She has acted for clients in a variety of industries, including the automobile and construction industries.

Kara’s experience includes advising clients on unfair dismissal, retrenchment, restraints of trade and organisational rights disputes and other employment law issues. She is also experienced in drafting pleadings for the South African Labour Court; the Commission for Conciliation, Mediation and Arbitration; the High Court and the magistrates’ courts, as well as drafting employment contracts and settlement agreements.

In addition, Kara advises clients on pension law and employee benefits, particularly pension funds adjudicator complaints, duties of trustees, fund management, surplus appointment and compliance issues.

Her experience further extends to civil litigation, including preparation and assistance in High Court and magistrate’s court litigation.
