Profile

I have over 16 years' experience, including 9 years' in-house legal and commercial experience at Australia's leading telecommunications infrastructure provider. This extensive experience enables me to provide highly commercial legal and strategic advice from both a mobile network operator's perspective as well as an infrastructure owner's perspective.

As part of the MinterEllison "Future Cities" team, I am passionate about unlocking all opportunities in respect of what makes a smart, safe and sustainable city, for everyone.

I advise on a broad range of matters, including infrastructure and property acquisitions and divestments, facilities access agreements, property tenure arrangements, M&A, joint ventures and technology.

Career highlights

  • Trusted advisor to Optus for its 5G, small cells and macro related rollout work, documenting master access agreements with major landlords, including utilities, quasi government entities and private corporations.
  • Part of deal team that completed the $2 Billion sale of Crown Castle Australia to a Macquarie led infrastructure consortium in 2015.
  • Successful Axicom acquisition of 56 Southern Cross Austereo (SCA) broadcast towers by way of asset sale in 2017 with the granting of anchor licence back to SCA for its existing broadcast equipment on the towers.
  • Successful acquisition of various wireless infrastructure asset/share portfolios across Australia with major mobile network operators as tenants.
  • Negotiating and drafting master access agreements and individual site licences for Telstra, Vodafone, Motorola, NBN, Aussie Broadband, Southern Cross Austereo, Broadcast Australia, NBN, Thinxtra, UnitiWireless.
  • Securing and renewing property tenure arrangements for major wireless infrastructure owners, including freehold land acquisitions, long term lease arrangements, easements in gross and access licences.
  • Acting for major blue chip companies in acquisitions, disposals and leasing of commercial and industrial properties.

I'm also passionate about giving back and provide pro bono legal assistance to charitable organisations such as Camp Quality and the Sydney Mardi Gras.
